Mr McCormack was chosen to be The Nationals’ candidate at the next federal election at the party’s preselection meeting on Sunday.
Elected to Parliament in 2010, Mr McCormack was elected leader of The Nationals, and became Deputy Prime Minister as a result, after the resignation of Barnaby Joyce in February.
Chairman of the Riverina electorate council of The Nationals Barney Hyams said Mr McCormack has been doing an outstanding job representing the constituents of the Riverina and central west.
