“She has arthritis in her back leg – so when I walk her, I can’t walk her more than a couple of kilometers before she starts limping,” Mrs Lewington said.
“So I wouldn’t think she’d walk far and to not be sighted for this long means she may have been taken.”
Audrey went missing on Edward Street, Wagga, and Mrs Lewington and her family have since reported the matter to police and Wagga City Council.
Mrs Lewington, her partner, Michael, and Audrey moved to Wagga only in early September.

She said it had not been “a good start”.
“We’ve contacted all the vets in the local area and surrounding councils as well,” Mrs Lewington said.
“The microchip’s been updated as well so if scanned, it’d come up as missing or stolen.”
Mrs Lewington and her family have published posts on various Riverina community pages on social media asking for help, which she said have had thousands of reactions and shares.
“The community support has been amazing,” she said.
“We drive around the streets every day to find her, and every second person knows and recognises her from the online posts.”
Similarly, Mrs Lewington’s mother, Lisa Dunn, has door-knocked and put up missing posters “all over Wagga”.
“This includes supermarkets and takeaway shops, but we’ve had no luck,” Mrs Dunn said.
“There’s been no sighting, which is odd, because a dog would be sighted if it wasn’t taken.”
Despite the situation, Mrs Dunn said the council’s Glenfield Road Animal Shelter has been supportive in keeping them updated.
“We go there every day and they’ve been wonderful,” Mrs Dunn said.
Mrs Lewington pleads for Audrey’s return.
“She needs to be back here where she’s cared for and loved for more than anything else,” Mrs Lewington said.
The family is offering a $500 reward for anyone with information about Audrey’s whereabouts.
