The 2018 event had more than 600 runners and about 350 cyclists and many more spectating.
The course was a 10km flow through the streets of Wagga with both the start and finish at Apex Park, Lake Albert.
Securing first in the women’s and men’s open divisions were Annabel White and Brad Kahlefeldt, respectively.
Miss White, 18, finished the 10km run in 38.06 while Mr Kahlefedlt, 39, crossed the finish line in 31.56.
Miss White, who ran with her father, said it was her first time competing in the event.
“It’s an iconic event and I’ve been lucky to compete in it, so it’s really nice,” she said.
“I’ll come back next year.”

Similarly, Mr Kahledfeldt competed in the event for the first time in 16 years.
“I’m really happy with it because the last time I was here was 2002, just before I went for the under 23 championship in Mexico,” he said.
“It’s nice to return, it’s been a long time.
“I went through the first 5km around 16 [minutes] flat and brought it home quite well.”
The marathon runner encouraged more residents to participate next year.
“It’s such an iconic race in Wagga and that’s the reason I’ve come back,” Mr Kahledfeldt said.
“It’s great all the locals come out and support it and it’s free.
”The organisation is amazing and everyone gets around this race.”
In the women’s open division, Rachel Glasson came second in 39.33 while Stephanie Male finished third in 43.17.
Meanwhile, Luke Baker and Ed Langdon finished second and third in 33.54 and 34.27, respectively.
Wagga Lake Run and Ride president Phil Roy thanked the volunteers and committee members for putting in the hard work.
“A lot of volunteers have helped and we’ve got a great involvement from the community as well,” Mr Roy said.
“It’s one of those key spring events, where people like to get out in the sun.”
