The Collingullie-Glenfield Park star says he’s solely focussed on striving for success with his brothers Ben and Matt at Narrandera on Saturday.
“I’m feeling really good. I’ve done everything I possibly can to get back on the field. I’ve pushed myself at training 100 percent, I went as hard as I could, and it’s feeling good,” Klemke said.
The gun midfielder re-injured a hamstring in their qualifying final win against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong in the first week of finals and missed the Demons’ semi-final victory against Griffith.
That win a fortnight ago secured a return to Narrandera Sportgrounds and a shot at redemption. Although Klemke says last year’s loss to Leeton-Whitton won’t be crossing his mind.
“All I’ve been thinking about is playing a grand final with my brothers. Hopefully we can turn a dream into reality,” he said.
Ruckman Ben, 26, joined Jayden, 23, and Matt, 21, at the Crossroads this year.
If you’re wondering how it’s gone, well, they finished 1, 2, 3 at the club vote count with Jayden winning a fourth straight best-and-fairest. Ben was second and Matt third.
“It’s been really good. We’re very close brothers,” he said.
“This (grand final) is what we talked about hopefully might happen. We haven’t played senior footy, all three of us together, before.”
Jayden is named to start in a pocket and Matt in the middle. The youngest brother caught the eye in last year’s grand final and has started to leave his own mark on the league this season.
“I reckon he’s probably been one of our best this year,” Jayden said. “He’s a year old, he’s matured and I can see him playing a big role for us on Saturday.”
Saturday’s grand final gets underway at 2.45pm.
