The unexpected announcement Canberra’s Club Lime had purchased Xceler8 reached gym members’ email inboxes this week.
But Xceler8 owner – now Club Lime manager – Kerry Podmore assured clients they would be the biggest winners from the move.
In addition, Mr Podmore said next Friday’s official changeover would be revolutionary for the city, with the business set to take the fitness industry to “another level” in Wagga. , adding two additional facilities to the booming
He said two additional facilities and future personal trainer training opportunities would be among a number of impending features.
Across almost 20 years, Xceler8 has grown to become the most popular fitness venue in the city, with more than 3000 residents on the books.
Mr Podmore said this would be more members than a combination of four alternate facilities.

He said he, his wife and the gym’s staff would carry on working, which would remain family-oriented, kid friendly and focused on women’s security.
“We thought we’d stay here forever, so there’s sadness in that,” Mr Padmore said.
“But we can’t do what [Club Lime] is going to do in the period of time [it will] do that … I’m getting paid for my life’s work and I get to keep doing it.”
