Few footballers have invested as much time and effort into the Swans over the past decade than Orton.

He arrived as a high-prized signing in 2011 and has only missed the one season at Exies Oval since.

Orton has won two Jim Quinn Medals, coached the Swans for two seasons and now taken over the reins for the Riverina League representative team.

Orton will get a chance to add a Swans premiership to his long list of achievements on Saturday, when he takes on Collingullie-Glenfield Park in the grand final at Narrandera Sportsground.

The 32-year-old said a Swans flag would mean ‘loads’.

“When you invest so much time in a club, the ultimate prize is the best way to get reward,” Orton said.

“Obviously for me, not being a local but now sort of being a local and having met so many people here and really enjoyed my time here, to get the ultimate prize would be everything.

“It’s not just me that has invested time either, there is a lot, but it would mean the world to us.”

Orton will be chasing his third premiership after grand final glory at St Marys in the Northern Territory Football League and Mitiamo in the Lodden Valley League.

He said he never imagined still being at Griffith seven years after his arrival.

“Not at all, I didn’t even know where it was when I first heard about it up in Darwin,” Orton said.

“To where I am now, moving away and coming back as well, it’s such a great town and great club and that’s why I’ve been here so long.

“It’s a credit to everyone involved at the club to keep blokes here.”

Orton is confident the Swans can get the job done in the club’s first grand final in 14 years.

“I think we can, obviously you’ve got to be confident and they’re going to be confident as well after beating us for the first time in that semi,” he said.

"When we play our best footy, it's hard to stop us so if we can get that going on the day, I think we’ll be a good chance.”
