Darren Richard Woden, 45, appeared before Wagga Local Court for the second time on Wednesday after police charged him with wounding his housemate three weeks ago.
The court heard police prosecutors had already compiled a “large volume of material” as part of their brief of evidence against Mr Woden, who is yet to enter his plea.
Appearing in court via video-link from the Junee Correctional Centre, Mr Woden told the magistrate he also wanted more time to find a lawyer to represent him.
The Legal Aid solicitor present clarified that they were yet to receive an application from Mr Woden, and would not be able to represent him in court until he lodged one.
He will appear before Wagga Local Court again on October 31.
