If unsuccessful, Lady Jane of Aimar – Amy Combs – said she would lose her nobility status.
But the year-eight student from Wagga Christian College fortunately retained the favour of the king, with her fame, the resources of her land and the skill of her knights.
Amy shared the story of her feudal family amid the school’s annual Medieval Day. The thirteen-year-old and her classmates stepped outside the textbooks and facts to bring history to life in a fun and creative way.
“You often fantasise about these things,” Amy said. “But it’s all quite different to your expectations.”
They became the city’s most chivalrous men and virtuous ladies for the day, working together to put what they had learned into practice.
In addition to dressing up, students took part in medieval games, activities and a feast before presenting their final assignments.
