After 18 years on air in Wagga – and having worked as a duo for 25 – Leighton Marshall and Duncan Potts will host their final Triple M Riverina show together on September 28.
Announcing the decision on air, Mr Marshall said he was hanging up his headphones after 35 years in radio.
“Although I will still be heard on Triple M from time to time, no longer will the alarm blare out at 3.45am and no longer will I have to worry if sales reps have drunk all the coffee the day before,” he told listeners.
“Many years ago a family friend said to me ‘Leighton, work Monday to Friday to pay your bills and work nights and weekends to get ahead’. I’ve lived by that philosophy.”
Mr Marshall described his long-time partnership with Mr Potts as an absolute pleasure and a buzz.
With their on-air partnership coming to an end, Mr Potts said he was taking on a new role at Triple M in talent development, but would still be heard in the afternoons.
