Child Studies students in Year 9 have been conducting a playgroup for preschoolers for the past six weeks.
Preschoolers attending are from Gumnut Cottage, Family Daycare and Friends of Wagga High and are aged from one to five years.
Chloe Watt, 14, said she is interested in working with children after high school and the playgroup was a great way to test the waters.
“We do gross motor skills which are more activity and movement,” she said. “We do fine motor skills which are pinching and playing with cotton buds.”
Chloe said painting, drawing, cutting out and completing puzzles were just some of the activities.
Rebekah Manwaring, brought her son along to the playgroup and said it was a great initiative.
“It’s free which is fantastic and there is a broad range of ages for them to interact with,” she said. “They also get so much attention which is great.”
