More than 7000 race-goers braved the cold for the city’s second biggest meet of the year on Saturday.
Additional police were out and about, patrolling the Murrumbidgee Turf Club, pubs, clubs and roads, as festivities continued into the night.
Inspector Adrian Telfer said officers issued three notices for offensive behaviour, after residents were caught urinating in public at the MTC.
Two men were also caught relieving themselves in the CBD later in the night.
One racegoer was also given a ticket for failing to leave Romano’s at about 8pm, according to Inspector Telfer.
Of close to 1150 random breath tests on Saturday afternoon, he said one driver was found to be driving under the influence of drugs, and three residents were fined for mid-range drink driving.
“We were very happy with everyone’s behaviour,” Inspector Telfer said.
“For such a large crowd, it was a pretty good day.”
