Henwood Park coach Ryan McKenzie has hailed the efforts of semi final opponents Young after bowing out of the premiership race with a 2-1 loss at Leeton Sports Ground.

“They definitely brought it to us out there,” McKenzie said.
“Young were full of confidence coming into the game and they didn’t hold anything back. They’re a talented bunch of players and they went really well.”
McKenzie rued his side’s inability to stay composed and stick to their structures after conceding a second half goal.
“As soon as it got to 2-1, I think we lost our game plan. We started resorting to long balls and lost the structures that we’ve used all year, so that’s when it all went out the window for us.”
The first-year coach said he was eager to stay on at Henwood Park regardless of whether he’s handed the clipboard again next season.
“I’ve really enjoyed this year and (the captaincy) is up to the board but I’m happy to be helping out in any capacity next season.”
The Lions will take on Lake Albert in the Pascoe Cup decider after the Sharks clinched an extra time thriller against Wagga United.
