The long-awaited Forest Centre Hospice will officially open its doors on Saturday, with the Right Reverend Bishop Trevor Edwards bestowing a blessing on the facility.
Forrest Centre chairman Peter Fitzpatrick last year said a $2 million funding contribution from the State Government would be “the last piece of the palliative care puzzle” for the region.
Almost one year on, 10 ten beds at the Forrest Centre’s hospice on Lewisham Avenue, will provide peace of mind to residents seeking end of life care.
Province Leader of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary Sister Jennifer Barrow will accompany the Vicar General of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn at the opening ceremony.
