Whether it is residential or dementia care, in-home services, or palliative care, The Forrest Centre believes it is a privilege to “care for you and your loved ones”.
A not-for-profit organisation governed by a volunteer board of management, The Forrest Centre has maintained a high standard of services since it was formed in 1983.
The Forrest Centre can trace its origins back to Wagga resident Miss Ethel Forrest and The Venerable Mary Potter, who founded the Little Company of Mary in England.
When Miss Forrest died in 1977 left the bulk of her large estate to the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, to establish a hospital-like facility in the region. The Little Company of Mary wanted to construct a nursing home to operate in conjunction with Calvary Hospital.
These visions were combined, resulting in construction of a 60-bed nursing home, assessment and rehabilitation, and day care centre for the aged in 1985.
Today, The Forrest Centre employs more than 250 staff in two residential aged care facilities – Mary Potter Nursing Home and Loreto Home of Compassion – in Wagga and provides at-home care services to more than 350 customers in the Riverina and Murray regions.
