Terry Stephen Ratliff fronted Wagga Local Court for sentencing on Monday after pleading guilty to supply, possession, and having a prohibited slingshot.
However, after completing the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment program, magistrate Christopher Halburd said Ratliff was now doing “incredibly well”.
“You’ve gone from someone who first smoked cannabis at age nine and commenced problematic use at age 13 to someone who’s been abstinent for some time,” Mr Halburd said.
“You had money, you had other evidence you were a drug supplier, so you’ve got to understand that, if you’re going to supply drugs into the community, you’re going to do harm to other people.”
Ratliff was sentenced to a seven-month jail term, which was suspended, as well as a 12-month good behaviour bond for his crimes.
His slingshot and proceeds of crime were seized.
