A Wagga man’s foul language towards police officers after he refused a breath test has landed him in court.

Desmond John McGeachie, 47, fronted court for sentencing on Monday after pleading guilty to refusing a breath test, using offensive language in public, and stopping in a taxi zone.
Police stopped McGeachie in Forsyth Street after he lost traction and mounted the gutter during a swift u-turn.
Noting his bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and breath smelling of alcohol, police requested a breath test.
He refused and started verbally abusing the officers, calling them “a bunch of f---wit public servants”.
In court, magistrate Christopher Halburd said his language was “just appalling”.
“It was just entirely unacceptable, they’re just doing their jobs,” he said.
McGeachie apologised for his “terrible” language and said he was mourning a family member at the time.
He was fined $800, disqualified from driving for 18 months, and given a two-year good behaviour bond.
