Hair-raising rides, tasty treats, and crocodile encounters were all on offer for the community to enjoy. 

Wagga Show president Bruce Ryan the festivities went down a treat with the community, which was just as supportive as it had been for the last 15 decades.

“We had two days of absolutely fabulous weather, and the crowd was up about 10 to 15 per cent on the previous two years,” Mr Ryan said. 

“It was well-supported by the public and our sponsors, and the entertainment we had seemed to go down really well.” 

With plenty of rides and activities, sheering competitions, musical entertainment, and some classic show foods, there really was something for everybody. 

“We had our whip-cracker doing demonstrations, the Rooftop Express were our night time entertainment, and the Kapooka Band gave us a session on Saturday evening,” Mr Ryan said. 

“We got the families around lunchtime and the afternoon, and then moving into the evening we got a lot of younger people coming in to enjoy the sideshows, the rides, and the fireworks.” 

On top of all the live entertainment and the impressive fireworks display that thundered through the sky was face-painting, photography exhibitions, cake decoration, and arts and crafts. 

There was also dodgem cars, a petting zoo, a jumping castle, a Ferris wheel, and a millinery workshop for the whole family to enjoy. 

Mr Ryan, who has been involved with the Wagga Show for 20 years and president for four, said it was all about celebrating Wagga’s roots as a rural centre.

“It’s still about bringing some of the rural aspects of life to the city people, and I think there’s still a place for that, because although we’re a rural city, we do have a lot of city-dwellers,” he said. 

“I'd like to thank the people of Wagga for their support and our sponsors, as well, who support us year after year and too numerous to name.”
