Porter was named the best and fairest player in the A grade competition at the Farrer League presentation night at The Rules Club on Wednesday.
Porter polled three votes in the final round to edge out Charles Sturt University’s Ashleigh O’Leary in a thrilling finish.
The three votes was the difference as Porter finished on 25, ahead of O’Leary on 22.
The Rock-Yerong Creek recruit Lily Wild finished third on 19 votes, ahead of Coleambally’s Lauren Pound and Northern Jets’ Claudia Barton on 18 votes.
Marrar’s Tara Taylor (17 votes) rounded out the top five.
Porter, a goal defence, returned to North Wagga this season after spending last year at East Wagga-Kooringal.
The 21-year-old polled in 10 of the Saints’ 16 games.
In A reserve, experienced Northern Jets netballer Caroline O’Brien took out the best and fairest with 26 votes, ahead of teammate Emily Lucas on 20.
Aleesha Gill scored a commanding victory in B grade, polling in 14 out of 16 games to finish on 35 votes and win by 12.
C grade best and fairest went to Barellan’s Jessie McDermott.
Marrar’s Amelia Fitzgerald took out the inaugural under 17 best and fairest.
