Staff members Tina de Jong and Kaz Leary said Erin Earth is hosting their seasonal open day this Saturday.
“It’s all about celebrating spring, so spring vegetable gardening and all the jobs to do so the garden doesn’t get away,” Ms de Jong said.
“Thinking about mulch and getting in early before you have to water them too much.”
Ms Leary said they invited a special guest, respiratory clinical nurse consultant Robyn Paton, to discuss pollens and asthma.
“It’s a timely opportunity to talk about allergy and asthma friendly gardening,” she said.
“Also, what sort of plants to plant to avoid that risk.”
Kids activities are on all day and Ms de Jong said it’s a cheap family outing because the cost is a donation.
“Even if people don’t want to come to the workshop people can just walk around and enjoy the garden,” she said.
Sturt Public School will also be promoting their beeswax wraps, Ms Leary said.
“The gardens are looking beautiful and it’s just a nice time of year to be out and about,” she said.
“You can just enjoy the sunshine.”
