The man was travelling on Irrigation Way just before 3am on Saturday when the accident occurred, causing the 4WD Ranger utility to flip and rollover.
No other vehicles were involved.
Police, paramedics and the Leeton Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) rushed to the scene.
VRA president Paul Smith said he felt a feeling of dread when approaching the accident, thinking the occupant could not have survived what he and his crew were seeing.
The man in his late 20s was trapped by confinement inside, but miraculously walked away with just a cut finger.
Other police news
“It was just incredible that he only suffered that minor injury … it was one of the worst accidents we’ve been to for a while,” Mr Smith said.
“He’s very lucky. It was amazing he wasn’t hurt more seriously.”
The damage was so severe the tray back from the ute was torn away from the cabin and debris was strewn for about 100 metres.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
