1. Entry Times
The Wagga Show will be held on September 7 and 8 at the Wagga Showgrounds. Opening times for the event are 10am to 9pm both days and the sideshow alley opens at 1pm on Friday.
2. Parking
Parking is available at Gate 2, entry at Bourke Street, at the cost of $10 and street parking is available in the surrounding areas. A family pass – two adults and two children, for one day is $40.
Adult tickets are $15 and pensioners $5. Students and under 18s are $10, but ID must be shown. Children under five are permitted free entry.
Tickets and discount ride vouchers are available from the Wagga Show Society.
3. Weather
Despite a high chance of rain on Thursday, forecasts predict the rain will clear with only a 30 percent chance on Friday morning. A sunny day to follow with tops of 16 degrees that will drop to seven in the evening.
Saturday will start off chilly with morning frost and a cloudy day, hitting a top of 15 degrees. It will be a partly cloudy day with light southwest winds.
Make sure to pack a jacket to keep warm while watching those evening performances.
5. Schedule
The official opening starts at 6pm on Friday night, after which the 2018 Showgirl will be announced.
For anyone a fan of bright lights in the night sky, fireworks are on both nights of the show at 9pm.
Saturday’s schedule will be released on the Wagga Show Facebook page on Friday night.
6. Keep an eye out
The line-up includes cake decorating, poultry, farm produce, photography and the farmer’s challenge. Kids Zone will open in Kyeamba Smith Hall at 10am with interactive activities.
For the brave and curious, Crocodile Encounters will open at 12.30pm on Friday on the western side of Kyeamba Smith Hall.
The headline acts for this year in the Centre Ring on Friday night are Kapooka Military Band Centre Ring at 6.46pm, Roof Top Express at 7.45pm and local talent Heatstroke Centre at 8.30pm.
The secretary-manager of the annual event, Aileen Storey, encouraged Wagga to get out this weekend and support the show.
