Uranquinty bounced back from their surprise loss to Turvey Park last week with a 53-47 win over the Stars on Saturday.
It was tightly contested with a slow start from both teams, working up to a hard-fought finish.
First quarter both teams were neck to neck with Shooting Stars shooters Brooke Harpley and Maddie Browning both moving and shooting efficiently against Uranquinty’s tight defence consisting of Georgia Tilyard and Grace Cornell.
The next two quarters were just as tight, with only a few goals separating the teams.
Uranquinty’s centre court Tilly Vearing, Meg Reinhold and Rachel Grant worked hard to fend of Shooting Star’s centre court Hayley Stevens and Lucy McIntyre, allowing no easy pass.
Uranquinty were able to pull away in the last quarter winning 53 to 47 with shooters Lana Duffy and Hannah Finemore fending off Stars defenders Ruby Gillard, Bridie Delahunty and Maddison McIntyre.
Turvey Park finished level on points with Shooting Stars after a loss to New Kids Aces, but finished fifth on percentage.
New Kids were strong from the get go, setting up their 53-38 win.
Rachael Addison and Ella McFarlane fed into New Kids shooters Flynn Hogg and Cloe Hilderbrand efficiently.
Turvey Park centre court Kylie Hulm and Amanda Gooden were relentless in attack with plenty goal assists throughout the game while shooters Leila Wadley and Morgan Watts were consistent and accurate in the goal circle.
However New Kids defenders Ella Fellows and Kate Bell were reckless creators of turnovers throughout the game.
New Kids had a strong opening quarter and then proceeded to outscore their opponents for the rest of the game.
Meanwhile Kooringal scored a 61-25 win to see CSU Reddies finish winless for the season.
It was a hard fought first quarter but Kooringal were able to gain a lead in the first quarter, keeping CSU on the back-foot right until the final whistle.
Kooringal centre court were consistent bringing the ball up the court and feeding into the shooters.
Reddies shooters Bonnie Keys and Hannah Williams shot consistently against tight defenders Phoebe Wallace and Lea Kerr.
Kooringal shooters Sophie Fawns and Lauren Cooper worked the circle well scoring from every position against hard working CSU Reddies defenders Sharlee Kerr and Brittany Fair.
Kooringal tackle Uranquinty for a place in the grand final on Saturday while New Kids Aces and Shooting Stars are playing for their survival.
