He appeared out-of-session at Wagga Local Court on Sunday, September 2 where he was refused bail.
The accused is expected to enter a plea when he reappears in court on September 5.
Earlier on September 1: A Wagga man wanted in relation to an alleged stabbing in Ashmont on Friday morning has been arrested.
A NSW Police media spokesperson said officers from the Riverina Police District arrested a 46-year-old man at a home on Callaghan Street, Ashmont, about 2.15pm Saturday.
Wagga Police Detective Inspector Darren Cloake confirmed the arrest.
“We’re fortunate that a lot of the time this type of serious offence doesn’t take place,” he said.
“Again, we have limited control over warring parties and relationships that do break down.”
As of Saturday morning, a Murrumbidgee Local Health District spokesperson said the victim remained in stable condition.
