Here’s how a spectacular day of rugby league panned out:
It all started with Young etching themselves into Sullivan Cup history with a 22-8 grand final win over Brothers
The Cherrypickers had won 11 on the trot and went into the under 16s decider as heavy favourites but found themselves down 8-4 early in the second half.
It took a big second half to see them home – but not without a few scuffles.
Brothers were next to hoist some silverware after seeing off Albury for the third year running.
The Brethren made it a hat-trick of leaguetag premierships off the back of a Madison Dunn hat-trick, running out 18-0 victors at Equex Centre.
Young then completed a junior premiership double with the under 18s taking out the Weissel Cup in a 14-10 thriller against Southcity.
The Cherrypickers shot out to three-try lead but were almost reeled in by the fast-finishing Bulls.
Southcity’s Burmeister Shield side, however, weren’t to be denied in their decider.
The Bulls outmuscled Kangaroos in an all-Wagga affair in the second grade grand final, scrapping out a 18-6 win to go back-to-back.
You probably already know what happened in the first grade final between Gundagai and Southcity – but here’s our live bog and reports in case you’ve been living under a rock.
