Lutheran Primary School hosted their Book Week character parade yesterday and the library manager Kris Bormann said popular costumes have been Where’s Wally, pirates, fairies and princesses.
“Everybody likes to dress up and get out of their real life for a short while,” she said.
Others got more creative, with some students dressing up as an Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while Captain Underpants stole the show.
Matthew Inglis’ daughter in year three took the celebration quite literally, dressing up as a big book.
“She loves it and it gives them a chance to be creative and the kids just love the spirit of Book Week,” Mr Inglis said.
“We’ve always been a big book family and we’ve tried hard with the costumes, so it’s always a bit of fun leading up to the day.”
