United will host Tumut on Sunday afternoon at the Mia Sports Field.
A win will see them notch up 31 points on the ladder and, should Young lose, United has every chance of sneaking into fourth on the eve of the Football Wagga finals series.
However, assistant coach Joe Trifogli said the task at hand was to beat Tumut first and then think about finals after that.
“We’ll definitely take plenty of confidence into this game after beating Henwood Park last weekend,” he said.

“What we want to do is take that momentum into this game and then into the finals.
“We don’t want to have a case where we’ve won a really good game and then lose that consistency.
“I think this year we’ve been up and down a fair bit and we can’t let that happen now.
“We’ve got to do what we did last week every week now.”
Tumut are in eight spot on the ladder, having won four matches this season.
Trifogli said his side would need to be on their toes with Tumut wanting to end their year with a victory.
However, several key players for Leeton may be missing on Sunday afternoon through injury and family commitments, including captain Joey Fondacaro.
“Joey injured his shoulder in last weekend’s game, we’ll see how he is, but we might have to rest him this weekend,” Trifogli said.
The weekend is set to be a big one for the club, with celebrations set to take place on Saturday night to mark the 1993 premiership.
This was the last time Leeton United won a first grade grand final, with current coach Mick Doolin at the helm back in 1993 as well.
Trifogli said the premiership reunion should give the current first grade side plenty of motivation.
“We should have a good crowd down there on Sunday too, so it’s hopefully going to be a good weekend for us.”
Leeton United’s women’s side will kick the day off on Sunday as they try to secure a spot in the finals.
First grade will get underway at 3pm.
