Maguire won the Rising Star award at the North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL) Awards Ceremony on Sunday night.
Maguire, who has played for Canberra Demons for the past two seasons, also finished fourth in the NEAFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) votes.
The 20-year-old led the MVP count when voting went behind close doors at the end of round 16 and held on to finish fourth, behind Aspley’s Matthew Payne.
Maguire’s breakout season has put his name back up in the lights with AFL clubs as a potential draft selection later in the year.
Maguire and Leeton-Whitton product Mitch Hardie were both named in the NEAFL Team of the Year.
Maguire was named at rover, while Hardie was named on a half-forward flank.
It was also Hardie’s second NEAFL season with the Demons.
