“Spring Jam is Wagga’s newest and biggest outdoor festival dedicated to kids,” Wagga City Council’s Fiona Hamilton said.
“So mark Saturday, October 6, in your calendars and bring the whole family along for a day of outdoor fun and excitement.”
Spring Jam, which will be held in the Wagga Botanic Gardens, replaces the long-running Little Big Day Out on Wagga’s entertainment calendar.
Young visitors will be able to lose themselves in the fun and excitement of Spring Jam’s circus acts, adventure play, interactive fun, live entertainment, safaris and treats, Ms Hamilton said.
The festival is aimed primarily at children aged between two and 12.
Spring Jam will have a range of zones across the Botanic Gardens, including a big top featuring two ticketed children’s performances, a main stage with free live entertainment , an active-outdoor kid’s area with free activities/entertainment (five to 12 years), and a workshop zone with free activities and entertainment for toddlers and preschoolers
Ms Hamilton said there would also be a chill-out zone with food vendors, tepees, installations, information tent, activities for toddlers and lots of seating.
The ticketed big top will feature performances by Children are Stinky, fresh from their five-star show and children’s choice award at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Children are Stinky delivers daredevil stunts, incredible acrobatics, lightning fast hula hoops, and loads of laughs. And it’s not just all for kids – the show is set in the 1990s with plenty of throwback laughs and nostalgia for mums and dads.
