“It was a really good game from us, I thought,” Cameron said.

“We definitely turned up for it and matched them physically.”

Lions coach Mark Mellish had earlier earmarked strength at the contest as a key area of improvement for his side and improve they did, going toe-to-toe with the hard-nosed visitors for the full 90 minutes.

“It was one of the better games we’ve played this year,” Cameron said.

Young are now brimming with confidence heading into their final regular season game of the year but will have their work cut out for them against a red-hot Wagga United outfit.

The men in orange threatened to usurp Lake Albert last weekend and held the Sharks to a 1-all draw in a clear statement to the rest of the competition.

“United’s looking good and they’ve had a fair run of 10 or so games without losing,” Cameron said.

“But we’ve got three wins in a row now and we’re really looking forwards to it.”
