After making his first grade in round one, Siegwalt will be wearing the number seven jumper as Southcity look to make it a premiership hat-trick against Gundagai on Saturday.

He’s excited for what lies ahead.

“I’m really excited,” Siegwalt said.

“It’s my first year in first grade so I’ll be a bit nervous, but it should be good.” 

Siegwalt is no stranger to grand finals, he’s played in one in his last four seasons with the Bulls, but this one is different.

It’s in the top grade.

Having to adapt to the faster and more physical game taking on the men this year, he’s looking to go one better than last year when the Bulls were surprised by Kangaroos in the Weissel Cup decider.

With Kyle McCarthy shifting to hooker this season, Siegwalt has been thrust into the hot seat.

However he believes having to play alongside the Weissel Medal winner and Nathan Rose has made the transition easier.

“It’s really good playing off the back of them two as they are such good players,” Siegwalt said.

“I didn’t really think I was going to get a crack but Doc (McCarthy) has been real good letting me have an opportunity to play.”
