The founder of Dads Care 4 Kids, Peter Makeham said the fundraiser at Bunnings was all about continuing to support ‘dads like himself’. 

“We are a support group for separated dads who have minimal support with their kids or single dads raising kids on their own,” he said.

“We started three years ago and the growth has been fantastic.” 

Mr Makeham said Wagga has been supportive, particularly with local businesses backing the group. 

“I learn new stuff everyday from new dads,” he said. 

“It helps me when I am a bit down, but being able to help other dads have been fantastic.”
