Rosalie Ham will be visiting Thursday, October 4, to launch her new book The Year of the Farmer and to hold an in-conversation with the library’s own Peter Casey, discussing her new book and other tidbits.
The Year of the Farmer, Rosalie’s fourth novel, is a darkly satirical novel of the residents of a small country town battling the elements and one another. Neralie Mackintosh returns to town to run the local pub. There are some who want to reinstate her to her rightful position in the social order, but Mandy Bishop, an old rival, is determined to stay at the top of the pecking order.
The evening with Rosalie Ham starts at 5.30pm and wine and finger-food will be provided. Tickets are available at bit.ly.rosaliewagga or by calling 6929 9700. The cost is free, so reserve your tickets now, and spend a night out with one of Australia’s best-known modern authors.
On the other end of the spectrum from wine, cheese and adult conversation we have babies, nappies, songs and rhymes.
Our popular program Baby Bounce returns for September. Baby Bounce is for 0-12 month-olds and runs for four weeks, on Thursday, September 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 10.30am.
Baby Bounce introduces the rhythm and sound of language to your baby using songs, rhymes and books. It is also a really great opportunity to meet other carers with babies the same age. There are no bookings required – just turn up.
