Phoebe Power, seven years old, was dressed up as Queen of Hearts and said her favourite thing had been when the music played and it was time to parade.
“I also liked the beauty and the beats costumes, as well as the lady bug and unicorns,” Phoebe said.
Kooringal’s student learning support officer, Myles Horan said the celebration was something for everyone to enjoy.
“It’s great to see all the kids dressing up as their favourite characters, especially given how hard they’ve worked to make their costumes,” he said.
“It’s also good for them to relax and have fun as they’ve been flat out all year.”
Many families and friends watched the book parade, singing and clapping along with encouragement as the children paraded the school grounds.
While not all children are in love with Book Week, Megan Crouch mum to year three student Sarah, said this is the first year that she seems to be enjoying it.
“No she hasn’t really enjoyed the Book Week parade, but this year she is dressed up as Elsa and seems to be enjoying it,” Ms Crouch said.
