LEETON-WHITTON coach Jade Hodge has called on his players to put last weekend’s loss behind them as they seek to cement their finals position on Saturday.
The Crows will travel to Maher Oval to take on the Bulldogs in what is a crucial match for the reigning premiers.
Following last Saturday’s close loss to the Hoppers, the two teams now find themselves in equal fifth on the Riverina Football League ladder.
However, Leeton-Whitton have a better percentage and are hoping a victory over the Bulldogs will get them across the line.
Coolamon will take on Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong, but even if both sides win, it will be the Crows who go through.
Coach Jade Hodge said his side was only focused on their task at hand.
“We’re not going to be thinking about other side’s results and what they are up to,” he said.
“We need to win and we know that.
“There’s no point worrying about anyone else.”
Leeton-Whitton were disappointed with last weekend’s two-point defeat at the hands of the Hoppers, in what was also their final home game of the season.
Hodge said his side would need to put that out of their minds and move forward on Saturday.
“All of the boys were disappointed with that loss … we’ve just got to move on to this weekend and do what we need to do,” he said.
“There were things we know we could have done better and that will be the aim this weekend.
“To improve and get those things right.
“Obviously you don’t want a loss like that to happen, but I’m glad it’s come now and not in the finals.”
Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs won’t be an automatic win for the Crows, with Turvey Park showing plenty of improvement this season.
The last time the two sides met was in round nine when Leeton-Whitton accounted for the Bulldogs 13.9-87 to 9.6-60.
“Any team on their day is capable of winning, so Turvey is no different,” Hodge said. “We want a full, four-quarter effort from everyone on Saturday.”
