In a skilful game of netball, Uranquinty were able to come to away with a 49-43 victory.
Uranquinty defenders Grace Cornell and Georgia Tilyard worked well in the circle against consistent Kooringal shooters Sophie Fawns and Lauren Cooper.
Uranquinty centre court Olivia Tilyard, Matilda Vearing and Rachael Grant brought the ball down the court smoothly against Kooringal’s Bridie Willis, Eliza Kelly and Sophie Cooper.
Uranquinty’s shooters Lana Duffy and Meg Reinhold worked precisely in the circle against hardworking Kooringal defenders Lea Kerr and Phoebe Wallace and did enough to keep Kooringal at bay and skip six points clear at the top of the ladder.
There wasn’t much between Shooting Stars and New Kids Aces in another tightly contested affair on Saturday.
Stars shooters Brooke Harpley and Maddie Browning played consistently against New Kids defenders Kate Bell and Ella Fellows.
New Kids centre court Rachael Addison and Ella McFarlane worked the ball down the court to shooters Cloe Hildebrand and Lisa Frow who finished it off with precision to help claim a 46-40 win.
Stars defenders Georgia Hallam and Maddison McIntrye worked well with Hayley Stevens, Bridgett Dill and Lucy McIntyre to reclaim possession and work the ball back down the court to the shooters, but in the end New Kids were able to hold Shooting Stars off.
Meanwhile Turvey Park denied CSU Reddies their first win of the season but taking a thrilling two-goal win.
The game went down to the final buzzer with Turvey scraping in with 49-47 victory.
Reddies defenders Rebekka Perry and Grace Smith worked tirelessly to present their team with turnovers to help Reddies lead at half-time.
Turvey Park shooters Morgan Watts and Leila Wadley shot consistently off opportunities presented by Amanda Gooden and Kylie Hulm.
Rachel Kirk, Kylie Simpson and Melanie Vidler worked the ball down the court tirelessly for Reddies.
Reddies shooters Bonnie Keys and Hannah Williams shot well against strong defenders Della Winnel and Jaimee Smith but they just missed out on that elusive win.
It keeps Turvey Park right in the middle the logjammed ladder.
Uranquinty are well clear at the top but only three points separates the next four teams.
Uranquinty are on eight points, one ahead of New Kids and Turvey Park, with Shooting Starts on five points.
