L.A Tooze are a local Wagga four piece band featuring Luke Tooze on vocals and guitar, Daniel Tooze on keyboard and harmonies, Tom Oczkowski on bass guitar and Scott Sippel on the drums.
The group will be heading to America in September for a short run of shows in Los Angeles and New York to perform their music, a cocktail of 60’s pop rock and 90’s guitar rock.
“We will travel on September 5 to showcase our music before a top talent agency Paradigm,” Luke Tooze said.
“Paradigm Agency books shows for Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and Lorde so there’s a good chance we could impress the crowd and work toward touring more in the States.
“We also recently signed to U.K indie record label The Animal farm, to release a series of single tracks coming out soon.”
Luke said the band decided to put on a fundraiser in their hometown to help them while they’re over there.
“Have you seen that exchange rate?” he joked.
“We’ll be playing at some great musical historic venues such as The Whisky a Go Go on Sunset Boulevard, an anchor on the Sunset Strip since it’s opening in 1964 and host to rock and roll’s most important bands, from the Doors, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin.
“We finish off at playing at The Other Door In North Hollywood and then flying to the East Coast to play at Pianos which is right in the heart of New York.”
Luke said local indie bands The Rockpools and Heatstroke are the supports for the night.
“So get down there and check out these great Wagga groups while you can,” he said.
The concert will be on at the The Home Tavern this Friday. Cost is $10 at the door.
