Can Assist Wagga and Lilier Lodge are holding a trash to treasure market to raise funds for their organisations.
Tammy Andrews, Can Assist welfare officer and fundraising committee member, said they re-opened in Wagga in October.
“It’s a non-for profit organisation run by people in our local community to try and raise awareness and funds for local people who are going through cancer,” she said.
“Our client list is already more than 30.
“We try to help people with the financial side of things, from chemist costs to fuel vouchers and accommodation for when they go to Sydney.”
Ms Andrews encouraged Wagga to get on board.
“You can book a site for $20 or donate your goods and we will sell them with all money raised going to Can Assist and Lilier Lodge,” she said.
“It’s all about helping local people who are dealing with cancer.”
Ms Andrews joked they wouldn’t accept anyone’s pets, but pretty much anything else goes.
“Books, clothes and household items are all welcome,” she said.
The sale is on Sunday, from 8am to 2pm, at the Lilier Lodge rear carpark. Entry to the sale is a gold coin donation.
Ms Andrews said Can Assist is always looking for more volunteers to lend a hand. If interested, click here to contact them.
