Mulga, also known as Joel Moore, sat down with a class of Wagga High students to learn their favourite things about the city.
He then took the stories they shared with him and turned them into a huge work of art at Wagga’s new all-inclusive Livii’s Place playground.
“The kids told me there’s lots of crows, so we got that in there, we had a kid who was a tennis player, kangaroos, skateboarding, the five o’clock wave at the beach, and the Murrumbidgee Mud Shark,” Mulga said.
“On the first day, that same class of kids came down and painted with me – I sketched it all out for them, and they painted in a lot of the colour.”
Mulga said he and the students also painted a unicorn for four-year-old Mia Stewart, who was born with Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency, leaving one of her legs shorter than the other.
Livvi’s Place should be ready for children of all abilities to enjoy by September.
