Mr Jones said in a statement he will not be taking part in any interviews until the end of term three.
“I have received numerous requests and whilst this is humbling, I do still need to focus on the Henschke community and students at this time,” he said.
For the first time in the Catholic Diocese of Wagga, Henschke will be introducing co-principals for next year as part of a trial to decrease the administration workload, giving more time with staff, parents and students.
Holy Trinity Primary School’s current principal Paul Jenkins and the curriculum coordinator Kym Willis, will move to Henschke in a shared principalship.
Henschke is twice the size of Holy Trinity and Mr Jenkins said he looks forward to becoming part of the culture at the new school.
“Holy Trinity has been a great school and I’m really excited to follow the legacy of Michael Jones; we have big shoes to fill,” he said.
