Organise your weekend with this handy hit list
1. Take 5 Fundraising Concert
Have a boogie and groove along to some of the classics, brought to you by Wagga band Take 5.
The band started after they got together four years ago and decided perform for a monthly concert raising funds for Compassion.
The band plays mostly rock and roll from the 50s through to the 80s with some of the major hits from stars such as Elvis Presley.
They encouraged Wagga locals to come on down to Mount Austin Primary School from 1pm on Sunday. They are often joined by 'Deja Vu', the vocalist duo Peggy Barratt and Christine Greentre.
Entry is $5 to go towards Compassion.
2. Fire and Ice Debutante Ball
Roseleigh the Witchery is sponsoring a debutante ball for youths in Wagga who have missed out for reasons such as financial and social circumstances.
The ball is alternative, the organisers said because they have done away with the exclusionary practices of debutante balls, where religious background, ethnicity, gender and sexuality prevented young people from making their debut.
The theme of the ball is ‘Fire and Ice’, to celebrate the end of winter and the heralding of spring.
Tickets can be purchased by calling Roseleigh the Witchery on 6928 4420 or purchasing directly from the office at 87 Kincaid Street, Wagga.
3. Wagga Trail Marathon
It’s time to race the last couple weeks of winter away.
Running enthusiasts and those keen to get outdoors can start to get pumped for the Wagga Trail Marathon on August 18 and 19.
The track is 90 percent off-road, with river tracks, bush scenery and hill top views and gives the options to run, walk or ride.
