Randal and team mate Rhiannon Podmore were part of the Australian under 20s mixed touch football side that clinched gold at the Youth Touch World Cup last week.

Their penultimate win – a grand final triumph over trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand – is one they’re not likely to forget.

The title of ‘world champion’ isn’t so bad either.

“It was so intense in the grand final and the crowd was so loud,” Randal said.

“I guess emotions were just really high but it was so competitive out there, definitely the toughest game I’m ever played in.”

Randal scored six tries during the tournament, including a try on debut against South Africa and dubbed the World Cup as one of her best experiences in the sport.

“It was the most amazing thing in the world,” Randal said.

“I want to thank Wagga Touch for their support throughout the campaign and also my coaches over the years that got me where I am today: Jim Virgona and Kevin Salmon.

“I also want to thank Paul Heffernan for helping me in the lead up to the tournament with managing my injury.”
