Yet, that’s exactly what South Wagga coach Luke Nichols is hinting at in the wake of another impressive display from his youthful Warriors.
The green machine reeled in a two-goal deficit against finals contenders Wagga United before goalkeeper Brett Scammell saved a last-minute penalty to force a 3-all draw on Saturday.
The result marked South Wagga’s first fortnight without a loss all season and left Nichols brimming with enthusiasm.
“It’s good to see the boys getting a few good results,” Nichols said.
Hopefully all the boys are still fit and we can get a few more results to finish the year.

“I think that penalty save from Brett was a bit of justice for us because we did play really well and we didn’t deserve to lose.”
The Warriors head into this weekend’s general bye with their tails up and Nichols is confident of pushing ladder leaders Lake Albert when they clash in September for their final regular season game.
“Hopefully all the boys are still fit and we can get a few more results to finish the year,” Nichols said.
“I think Lake Albert rested players or didn’t take it as seriously last time we played and they almost regretted it.”
South Wagga’s outlook is akin to that of Tumut’s with both sides chasing a positive note to their up-and-down seasons when they meet at Bull Paddock on August 26.
