Henwood Park are in the drivers’ seat to secure a week off in the finals after brushing past Tumut 5-2 on Saturday.
The Hawks capitalised on an Eagles red card to overcome a 2-1 deficit and register a convincing win at their Rawlings Park fortress.
The sides were locked at 2-all at half time but Ryan McKenzie’s men were unstoppable with the numbers advantage, blasting three unanswered goals to notch their third win in a row and climb into second on the ladder.
“I thought Tumut were pretty competitive even with a player out and we still had to focus on not giving the ball away and maintain possession,” McKenzie said.
McKenzie scored twice and James Thomson once while Lachie Davis bagged a double in his return from injury.
Henwood Park retain second place on the ladder after Tolland slumped to a 3-0 loss to Young on Sunday afternoon.
