The Wagga duo competed in the under 20s mixed side and starred throughout the tournament, scoring 11 tries between them for their country.
Podmore was named MVP in Australia’s round four win over Hong Kong while Randal was a constant threat in attack as the side marched into finals with a 9-1 record.
Randal then scored twice in Australia’s 22-1 semi final win over Hong Kong before Podmore scored a crucial try in their 9-6 grand final victory over New Zealand.
The win also avenged their round seven loss to the Kiwis.
Vienna’s mum and proud spectator, Natalie, said it was a very physical match in the final with two send offs.
