Officers from Turvey Park Fire and Rescue were called to Mumford Street twice within just a few hours.
The first call-out came about 1am; when firefighters arrived, they discovered two trees on the street had been burned down.
The second call-out followed about 5am, when firefighters then found a resident’s bin on the same street had been lit on fire this time.
Nobody was present on the scene on either occasion.
Firefighters expressed a lot of frustration that local “firebugs” continue to wreak havoc under the cover of darkness.
In the past week alone, Wagga’s firefighters were called to assist with a suspicious unit fire in Central and three separate car fires around the city.
