Stacey Amanda Mangan fronted Wagga District Court on Friday charged with using a rifle to intimidate her partner with the intent of causing him to fear physical harm.
Documents tendered to the court revealed the pair had been in a relationship for some three months when Mangan’s partner came to her Turvey Park home one afternoon to collect some of his belongings.
“This caused the accused to become extremely angry with the victim, and the arguing became heated,” the documents read.
"The victim exited the residence and put further items into his car and the accused walked away from the residence, at which time the victim saw the accused holding what he believed to be a rifle.”
Then, as he began to drive away, Mangan pointed her rifle at him from about 15 metres away.
He later told police he was frightened for his safety after Mangan threatened to shoot him.
A witness later reported seeing Mangan walk along Richard Street with what he believed to be a rifle in her hands; he told his parents, who called triple-0.
A number of other people in the neighbourhood then confronted Mangan, who claimed the gun was then down a drain.
She later refused to be interviewed by police, but told them “this is pathetic, seriously, come on – it’s not even a real gun”.
Mangan will return to court on October 19 for sentencing.
