Podmore and Randal featured heavily in the Australian under 20s mixed team on Wednesday, getting a run against South Africa, New Zealand and Hong Kong in Kuala Lumpur.
Randal was right in the thick of things, scoring a try in their first outing – a 14-2 win over South Africa – while Newcastle Knights representative Podmore brought some big-game experience to the side.
Australia backed up their win with a gritty 9-6 victory over arch-rivals New Zealand in their second round robin game before racking up a 22-0 win over India in which both Wagga girls scored.
The pair will take on China, Hong Kong and South Africa again during the second day’s play.
More to come.
