MTC are again up for the top gong at NSW’s 2018 Country and Provincial Racing Awards, to be held in Sydney’s Four Seasons Hotel on Friday, September 28.
They will be up against Muswellbrook Race Club, Sapphire Coast Turf Club and Tamworth Jockey Club for the award.
Narrandera Race Club has also been recognised for their good work by being named a finalist for Community Race Club of the Year.
They are up against Bong Bong Picnic Race Club, Coonabarabran Jockey Club and Duck Creek Picnic Race Club.
The formerly Southern District-owned Single Gaze is a finalist for Provincial Horse of the Year, alongside El Dorado Dreaming, Dark Dream, In Her Time and Le Romain.
Regular Southern District rider Mathew Cahill is a finalist for Country Jockey of the Year, with Ben Looker and Greg Ryan.
Former Albury trainer Brett Cavanough, now located at Scone, is up against Matthew Dunn and Gayna Williams for Country Trainer of the Year.
His horse, The Monstar, is a finalist for Country Horse of the Year, alongside Care To Think and Victoriem.
