The governing body discussed the proposal to share its limited revenue stream during a meeting on Sunday, August 5, and resolved to proceed with the donor model.
“It was something that was pitched late last week and everyone on the board got behind it, so we’re keen to get it going,” Southern Inland competitions and services manager Jack Heffernan said.
“We’re hoping to raise plenty of money for the cause.”
Southern Inland is yet to name which charity it will donate its gate takings to, however, Heffernan said that decision was to be finalised before the end of the week.
“We’re hoping to have our charity confirmed by Wednesday but definitely before the weekend.”
$2,000 is our goal, but we’d love to get that up to $3,000 if we can.

The upcoming weeks of finals rugby are expected to bring in more than $10,000 for Southern Inland, with approximately $2,000 to be set aside for drought relief.
“We’re keen to see heaps of people come down and support the cause by watching the finals over the next two weeks,” Heffernan said.
Saturday’s finals round to be hosted at Tumut Bulls Rugby Club will see Ag College face off against defending premiers Leeton Phantoms for the third time in four weeks.
The winner will earn a grand final berth against undefeated minor premiers Waratahs at Conolly Park on August 18.
Meanwhile, Griffith are preparing for their clash with Waratahs next weekend to determine CSU Reddies’ opponent in the women’s grand final.
