Marrar ruckman Matt Parks has been cleared of a broken collarbone but significant muscle and ligament damage to a shoulder was a bitter element of the Bombers’ big win at Barellan on Saturday.

The reigning premiers continued their consistent form of recent weeks to break away in the second quarter and not look back on their way to a 21.21 (147) to 5.5 (35) victory.
But the injury to Parks in the third quarter could threaten his involvement in finals.
“That’s the negative out of the game. He was killing it,” Marrar coach Shane Lenon said. “It’s a shame because he’s turning into a really good ruckman. His form’s coincided with the side’s a bit really.”
How long Parks will be sidelined for is uncertain but the Bombers believe it’s a serious injury despite him being cleared of a fracture.
Apart from the injury, Lenon was again pleased with his side’s ability to maintain their effort throughout, including a 7.7 final quarter.
“Our level for the whole game is a lot better than it was early in the piece. That’s been really positive,” Lenon said.
Captain Josh Hagar led from the front for Marrar while Adam Whyte was strong in the middle and then defence and Tyler Cunningham shutdown Barellan’s danger man Sean Ellis. Rhys Mooney had a big game across half-forward while Zach Walgers and Charlie Youngman both finished with four goals.
Brett Findlay and James McCabe were the pick for Barellan.
